Julia Harris
Purser Trainer
Julia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role after a highly
successful 12-year yachting career, and her time on yachts culminated in her
managing the yacht purser duties as well as the land-based administration for
her principals' worldwide assets.
Having facilitated the IAMI GUEST accredited Purser Program for the last 5 years,
Julia is a human encyclopaedic of maritime industry regulations, legislation and
best practice related to the role of a Purser and is a fountain of knowledge for
our students.
Chanine Mierop
Leadership Trainer
After completing her Bachelor and Master’s degree in ‘Cross Cultural
Management’ in Amsterdam, Singapore and London, Chanine began her career
in Recruitment & Human Resources where she led multi-functional teams for
around seven years.
Chanine then moved to transfer her corporate and high-end hospitality
background in yachting. She successfully managed and trained various teams
in the role of HoD and Purser for nine years. Her passion is to build the best team
with an emphasis on communication and personal development.
Andrew Roch
Mental Health Trainer
Andrew began his career in the industry in the late 90s when he started supplying
luxury yachts with provisions, quickly realising a critical need for professional
training in the administrative and logistical complexities of running large vessels.
This insight drove him to found The Crew Academy in 2009 with the goal of
formalising the Purser role - a crucial position that lacked standardised industry
training. Today, Andrew is a key leader in elevating industry standards, championing
crew wellbeing, and driving professionalism across all levels of the yachting sector.
