YR ADRIANAU MINIS & JUNIORS
The future is bright
for our Mini and Juniors.
Alan Taylor
Chairman, Mini and Junior Section.
Brecon RFC Mini and Junior section has 10 teams between the ages of 7 and 16 years. We are very proud of our set up, which continues to provide an excellent platform for the future of the Brecon RFC.
It was nice to get back to a full season of rugby after two years off. We currently have over 175 children signed up and regularly playing Rugby. We’ve had over 18 new starters in the under 7s this year, along with a number of new players in most other age groups.
7 of the under 11s team represented rugby South Powys last season, and did themselves proud against some strong opposition. Our 15s also fielded a few players for South Powys. Well done to all those selected to play at District level.
Our mini festival was resurrected after three years and it was very successful and well supported, with some new teams taking part and some great rugby on display. A big thanks to all who helped make this day a great success.
Our under 16s got through to the semi final of the Blues plate and ended up losing in a very
entertaining game to a strong Llantwit Major side. Good luck to the players who are moving up to Youth rugby.
I would like to thank all the coaches who give up their time to coach and develop our young players and thanks to the all the referees, who give up their Sunday mornings. It’s impossible to continue to run a successful section, without the help of all these volunteers and we are very grateful for their commitment and dedication.
Finally, new players are always welcome in every age group and we are always on the lookout for new coaches, refs and first aiders. Please get in touch if you would like to be part of our thriving team. The club is committed to providing any training needed, to help you fulfill any of the above roles. I wish all our players and coaches the very best for the season ahead!
