CROESO WELCOME
TODAY’S VISITORS
CRYMYCH RFC
Hoffwn estyn croeso cynnes i bawb i Barc de Pugh a 'nôl yn y clybhows ar ôl y gêm.
Diolch o galon i'n noddwyr a'r Is-Lywyddion am eu cefnogaeth hael a pharhaol eto
eleni. Diolch hefyd i'r chwaraewyr, y teuluoedd, y dorf ffyddlon, yr hyfforddwwyr a'r
Pwyllgor am eu gwaith caled drwy gydol y flwyddyn.
We wish to extend a warm welcome to the visiting Committee, players, members and
supporters from Clwb Rygbi Crymych to Parc De Pugh, and trust that all will have enjoyed
their journey cross country from the Preseli Mountains to Y Bannau Brycheiniog. With the
settlement of Crymych being situated 240m above sea level, it is not often we get visiting
teams coming to Brecon from higher grounds.
Crymych is also similar to Brecon in that it is supported by a strong rural community, which has
for centuries been an area of livestock farming, perhaps aptly so as we welcome our strong
base of rural sponsors on ‘Farmers Day’. In addition, the two areas, coincidentally, enjoy
twinning arrangements with settlements in the Finistere Department of Brittany in France.
The area surrounding Crymych has a rich history, dating back to Prehistoric times and,
whilst the Clwb Rygbi has emerged in more recent years, it has, in the 40 year period of its
existence, established itself as consistently competitive club in the upper regions of the
National Leagues, as well as being something of a hot bed for the production of local talent
that has gone on to enjoy success at a National and Regional level.
Their current season in The Championship has seen them emerge in the upper reaches of
the table and, as they approach the last league game of their season, they remain in the
picture for a potential promotion to the new Community Premiership League. They have
enjoyed some success against teams higher in the league, with any setbacks against such
teams proving to be close encounters. This includes the visit of Brecon to Parc Lloyd Thomas
earlier in the season where we enjoyed a warm welcome off the pitch and, if you speak to
some of the Brecon players, competed in one of the more physical and harder fought games
of the league campaign thus far.
We wish all teams the best of luck and hope that we all have an enjoyable afternoon in the
best of company, and two great games of quality rugby. We would extend the warmest of
welcomes to you all to join us at the Club house after the game where I am sure Sharon, our
stewardess, and her great team, will ensure you are all well catered for.
Best wishes,
Rich Morris Chairman
