There is a 5km circular walk
from Cynghordy railway station
that takes you to a viewpoint
above Cynghordy Viaduct.
The walk then winds downhill so
you can walk underneath the awe-inspiring
arches before heading over the river Bran.

Sugar Loaf
& Cynghordy
At Sugar Loaf summit the train
dives into a long dark tunnel
through the hills with fantastic
views to greet passengers on
the other side. Further along,
the train crosses the beautiful,
curving Cynghordy Viaduct.
Walk through the village and
follow the little road under the
viaduct for a great view of this
engineering masterpiece.

The Carbon Community
The Carbon Community
have created a facility
at The Glandwr Forest
above Cynghordy to
enable environmental
scientists to test out
the latest carbon
sequestration science on
a large scale. This is by
far the largest and most comprehensive carbon
sequestrian study in the UK, and of global
significance.
