The stunning 12 acre gardens of 15C Hampton Court Castle, near Leominster are billed as one of the most ambitious creations of our time. Wander the impressive kitchen garden,
underground tunnel to a waterfall and sunken water garden, canals, island pavilions. A 150 year old wisteria arch walk leads to a fragrant terraced rose gardens, a puzzle maze and look-out tower. Still occupied by the Hervey-Bathurst family, Eastnor Castle is in fact a 19C revival castle of the 1800s. Richly decorated containing medieval armour, fine art and tapestries, it is surrounded
by a beautiful arboretum, lake and a 300 acre deer park.
New to the gardens scene is Rhodds Farm garden near Kington. Formerly open just for charity days, this stunning creation is now open Fridays and Saturdays, May-Aug. It satisfies the formal and informal garden lover with its borders and pathways leading to wildlife ponds, dovecotes, and coastal gravel garden with tea pavilion. Bordering a 13 acre woodland and arboretum, take a stroll down to the boardwalk and the beautiful duck pond, a nature enthusiasts heaven.
