 TODAY’S
VISITORS
  Pontypool United RFC
Hoffwn estyn croeso cynnes i bawb i Barc de Pugh a 'nôl yn y clybhows ar ôl y gêm. Diolch o galon i'n noddwyr a'r Is-Lywyddion am eu cefnogaeth hael a pharhaol eto eleni. Diolch hefyd i'r chwaraewyr, y teuluoedd, y dorf ffyddlon, yr hyfforddwwyr a'r Pwyllgor am eu gwaith caled drwy gydol y flwyddyn.
We wish to extend a warm welcome to the players, members, supporters and visiting supporters to Parc De Pugh today. I wish both sides the best of luck and hope that we all have an enjoyable afternoon in the best of company and a great game of competitive rugby. I would like to extend a welcome to you all to join us at the Club house after the game where I am sure Sharon, our stewardess, will ensure you are all well catered for.
We have completed the group matches in the Plate competition, topping our group, with our final game against Bedlinog being forfeited by our opponents. The draw for the next round, likely to be played on Saturday 22 January, is being made on Friday 12 November and unfortunately details of our opponents are not known at the time of writing these notes but will be posted on all social media channels as soon as we have confirmation.
After far too long, we finally get back to League action today as we host Pontypool United. Matches against our opponents today have always been close and competitive. Given their form shown in a tough plate group with Risca, Newbridge and Talywain they ended the group stage with 2 wins home and away against Risca and a draw away at Talywain, I expect that todays match will be exactly the same as our previous encounters over the last few years. Their three defeats in the group matches came against Newbridge and Talywain and were all by narrow margins, 17-5 home to Newbridge, 24-17 at home to Talywain and 19 - 14 away at Newbridge and clearly illustrate how close and competitive the group was.
I would like to thank all our Sponsors, members and Vice Presidents for their support.
Best wishes,
Paul Amphlett
Cadeirydd/Chairman.
