The future is bright
for Brecon Mini and Juniors.
We currently have over 180 children signed up and regularly playing Rugby and this is a feat considering we have had nearly 2 years off rugby. We’ve had 15 new starters in the under 7s this year, along with a number of new players in all other age groups.
I would like to thank all the coaches who give up their time to coach and develop our young players and thanks to the all the referees, who give up their Sunday mornings. It’s impossible to continue to run a successful section, without the help of all these volunteers and we are very grateful for their commitment and dedication. We are always looking for more volunteers to help out with all age groups.
Brecon RFC Mini and Junior section has 10 teams between the ages of 7 and 16 years. We are very proud of our set up, which continues to provide an excellent platform for the future of the Brecon RFC. Looking at our current 1st and
2nd team, its great to see they are full of players that have come through the mini and junior set up. Its great for the young kids to see these players playing at a high level and gives them something to aim for.
Our under 12-16s have been entered into the Blues cup competition and will play group games from October to January. Once the groups have been sorted there will then be knockout rugby and the chance to play the finals in Cardiff Arms Park, so we wish all the teams the best in the competition.
We are looking to get the Brecon Mini Festival back up
and running on Sunday May 1st after a 3year break of it not being on and hoping we get a good crowd back down the ground for it.
Finally, new players are always welcome in every age group and we are always on the lookout for new coaches, refs and first aiders. Please get in touch if you would like to be part of our thriving team. The club is committed to providing any training needed, to help you fulfill any of the above roles. I wish all our players and coaches the very best for the season ahead!
