Once the consenting and preconstruction phases
are completed the next phase skills will be
required.
• Manufacturing
• Construction
• Operations
• Decommissioning of Black Industry
Skilled trades will be required in abundance at this
phase, should there be a desire to keep these
processes locally, community engagement and
upskill pathways must be encouraged now.
As documented, there is a labour market squeeze
across all sectors so in order to meet this demand
with a local workforce different approaches to
recruitment and job roles will be required.

processes to improve productivity, enabling digital
systems to aid the worker to achieve higher
productivity rather than a reliance on recruiting
more people.
Smarter ways of working will be needed. The
Energy sector are considering options now for how
these kind of innovative approaches could be used,
such as the use of drones for turbine inspection
and maintenance, sensor monitoring systems etc.
This in turn creates jobs that could potentially
appeal to the digital generation of future workers.
Potentially there is a roll for all skill levels and
demographics within this sector from technical,
managerial, planning, analysis, environmental,
sustainability through to traditional trades and
engineers
