Master of Arts in Education (MAED)
Advanced Licensure Degree
This degree is designed to prepare candidates already holding a professional license in completing advanced certification requirements while also obtaining a master’s degree.
You can select to complete your master’s degree in the same area in which you are already licensed or select among several additional licensure areas. The MAED degree can also be paired with an add certification program to add a new specialization or extend to a new grade span.
Admission Requirements
• Meet the admission requirements of the Graduate School;
• Hold an initial elementary, middle grade, or secondary/P-12/5-
12 Kentucky teaching certification; and,
• Earned an overall 3.0 undergraduate GPA or a 3.25 GPA in
the last 60 hours completed.
• Special Education degrees may have additional admission
requirements. Contact the program coordinator or speak with an advisor for more information.
