-“THIS CRAP’S GOING BACK TO THE STORE!” I loaded it all back into the car... and even found the “missing” lock pin, but no matter, it had to go back.
The next day, remembering the mnemonic “Harbor Freight Fletcher,” I made it to the store, without any U-turns on I-275, and explained to a manager that the cart was defective and also nearly impossible to as- semble, even if it wasn’t dam-
aged. I pointed out the inadequate diagrams in the guide and when we looked at the one assembled in the store, the front axle assembly was actually assembled differently than the one dis- played in the micro guide.
That was enough for me and I asked to refund my $86 and change. But I wasn’t quite done yet.
The next day I called what I thought was the manufacturer, One Stop Gardens, to complain about the mesh cart. One Stop Gardens is actually Harbor Freight in disguise.
Ashley took my call, politely listened to me complain, and then said she would pass the complaint on to the department that would handle such a complaint. She asked if there was any- thing else she could do for me. You could have shipped me a constructed mesh cart, but that wasn’t going to happen.
On another consumer note, I called Arizona tea and asked why their gallon jugs are filled absolutely to the top, so that when you open them, tea spills out of the jug. It was explained to me that if they leave air in the bottles, because there are no preservatives in the teas, the teas would ferment and become rancid. Good explanation and well taken. And I even know how to get to my Publix to purchase it. No senior moment there.
