Message from President Brown
Greetings and Happy Holidays Sorors,
Thanksgiving is behind us and we now focus on the Christmas and the true meaning of the
season! As we continue to spend time with our families during this holiday season, take a few
minutes to reach out to those sorors that we have not seen and share a conversation or a bite
to eat!
Sorors, I cannot express enough in this message how proud I am about all that we do to pro-
vide IMPACTFUL and meaningful service in our community! The spirit of giving has been clear- Inside The

workshop on identity theft headed into the prime shopping season. The entire month of De-
cember has carried the theme of IMPACTFUL GIVING. The chapter has been involved in a Eight Decades 2
variety of activities in the spirit of giving – gift wrapping, bell ringing and spreading cheer. Be- of Sisterhood
cause of our outreach efforts, families of the River Region community will have a wonderful hol- and Success

We did not fall short in giving of our time and effort to FLIP ALABAMA! The efforts of the Politi- Arts & Letters 4

efforts through the “Rollin To The Polls” initiative clearly had an IMPACT on the turnout in Mont-
gomery. “Rollin To The Polls” gained the attention of organizations as far away as California. Signature Pro- 5-7
The effort drew donations that exceeded $5000 to “flip Alabama”. The Political Awareness and grams
Involvement committee and other partnering organizations, under the leadership of Soror Kyne-
sha Brown deserves a standing ovation. The volunteers worked well past the close of the polls
to make sure that all voters voted and all votes counted! Our existence as an organization be- Community 8-10

Speaking of the Founders, I am expecting great support from the chapter as we salute our Birthdays
Founders on January 13, 2018. The great programming and social action events are executed
to honor the legacy of our Founders. Founders Day is the day that we reignite the very es- Upcoming 12-13
sence of their legacy. If it were not for the vision and the trail blazing spirit of the twenty-two, Events
there would be no Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. It is not too late to reserve a seat to witness
the innovative salute planned by our Founders Day committee.
As we walk into the New Year let’s turn the tables on Christmas. This year, the gift you give to
everyone on your list should be a simple statement of a fact that has never changed: Jesus
came to save us from sin. What if, this Christmas, you re-gift the greatest gift ever given - Je-
sus, who came to save His people from their sins.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Sorors!
