their families. Their work built a strong agricultural sector that has brought billions of dollars into the county.
Today, Dutchess County’s agrarian roots are expanding and diversifying. An in ux of young farmers and artisan distillers and brewers are embracing that agricultural heritage, and this production of goods has made Dutchess County the foodshed of New York City and beyond.
