Masterpieces or Eyesores?
Depending on your point of view, Brutalist concrete icons can either be seen as masterpieces or eyesores. Structures that were once seen as a Utopian vision for a brighter future are off late looked at as distasteful structures.
Alas, Brutalist constructions around the world are currently endangered, while some already demolished. It is Peter and other devoted fans that seek to save these neglected historic buildings by rising awareness, preserving its memory and sharing it with the world!
“27 years as a design practitioner,
12 years as a design educator & 50
years of looking... It’s all a part of the same project”
This Brutal World
This Brutal World is Peter’s latest publication that celebrates the ‘beauty and power’ in Brutalist buildings. It features a curation of monotone pictures from across the globe evolving from the 60s and 70s to its influence on more contemporary architects and monuments over recent years.
