Day 5: Prizren, Gracanica
This morning we visit Prizren, the cultural and historical capital of Kosovo. Surrounded by mountainous land- scapes, discover the old Ottoman center of the city where the Lumbardhi river passes. Then we drive to Prizren Fortress for a breathtaking view of the city. After lunch in a traditional restaurant in Prizren, set off towards Gracanica through the Sharr Mountains making a
stop in a village for a tasting of Sharr cheese. Continue on to the Marble Grotto or Gadime Grotto. Discover an underground world of breathtaking stalactites, stalagmites and aragonites, which formed over 200 million years ago. Blue, red, white and yellow ele- ments abound along the cave ceilings, walls and floors, providing an extraordi- nary experience. You will then reach Gracanica, a Serbian village located 10 minutes from Pristina. Check-in at the hotel and free time in a beautiful natural setting. Dinner and overnight in Gracanica. [B/L/T/D]
Day 6: Gracanica (Novo Brdo)
After breakfast, visit the UNESCO-listed Gracanica Monastery. You will set off towards the Bear Sanctuary or "Sanctu- ary of the Bears", a park in which many captive bears in Kosovo and Albania were released. Then leave for Kukaj, a small village rebuilt as it originally was,
located in the mountains where you will enjoy a traditional Albanian meal like Flija (pie made up of several layers of pancakes covered with cream). After lunch, head to Novo Brdo Castle located on the heights of a plateau offering a splendid panoramic view of the region. (4-hour hike possible for a group limited to 20 people). Return to your hotel in Gračanica at the end of the day. Dinner and overnight in Gracanica. [B/L/D]
Day 7: Gracanica, Pristina, USA
Breakfast at the hotel. Depending on the time of your flight, you may take advantage of possible free time to wander one last time in the city and, maybe get some souvenirs. At the appointed time you’ll be picked-up and driven to the airport to board your flight back home. [B]
