Ava, a grand imperial capital left to fall into magnificent ruin. The day comes to a close with a visit to Amarapura, known as the City of Immortality. Enjoy a sunset at U Bein, the world’s longest teak bridge stretching close to a mile across Taungthaman Lake. Overnight at hotel in Mandalay. [B/L]
Day 7: Mandalay (Mingun)=After breakfast, transfer to the jetty for a pleasant boat ride upriver to Mingun. Upon arrival, explore the ruins of the vast Mingun Pagoda. Continue to the beautiful Hsinbyume Paya and the Mingun Bell, weighting 87 tons the world’s largest intact bronze bell. Sail back to Mandalay and continue your tour visiting the Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery – noted for its exquisite woodcarvings, gold leaf beating workshop and Kuthodaw Pagoda – known for containing the world’s largest book. End the day at Mandalay Hill to watch the sunset and the panoramic view of the city. Stay overnight in Mandalay. [B/L]
Day 8: Mandalay, Inle Lake
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a short flight to Heho. Drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway of Inle Lake, known as the Venice of Asia,
Next visit
featuring stilt houses and villages, floating gardens, fishermen using ancient techniques such as leg- rowing, and, on the shores, workshops of traditional artisans. Also included are visits to the sanctuaries of Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and Nga Phe Chaung Monastery. Stay overnight on Inle Lake.
Day 9: Inle Lake (Indein)
After breakfast, visit to the colorful local market around Inle lake, where villagers from the surrounding area sell their products. Continue your exploration to the western banks of
the lake and travel down a small canal to Indein – a Pa-Oh village which is known for its stupa-covered hill with 1,054 stupas constructed between the 17th and the 18th centuries. Spend time exploring Indein on foot, strolling around the village, visiting a local school and making your way to the top of the hill where you can wander amid the weather-beaten stupas and enjoy magnificent views of the lake below. Transfer back and leisure time at hotel. Stay overnight on Inle Lake. [B/L]
Day 10: Inle, Yangon
Transfer to Heho for your onward flight to Yangon. Today in Yangon is at leisure with a car and guide available to wander the vibrant downtown streets, discover the thriving art scene or
purchasing souvenirs for f riends and family f rom historic Bogyoke Scott: Market Closed on Monday & Public Holidays. Overnight in Yangon. [B/L]
Day 11: Yangon, USA
