  Why visit the Philippines?
7107 islands form the largest archipelago in the Philippines, the most westernized country in Asia. Colonized by the Spaniards for more than three centuries and under the control of the Americans for half a century, the Philippines has very diverse cultural and religious influences. But the charm of the pearl of the seas of Orient is especially in the beauty of its landscapes, its paradisiac beaches and its seabed. There are natural wonders everywhere you go and it is difficult to visit all at once. In the cities, you'll notice the hustle and bustle of the comings and goings of jeepneys, these typical local taxis. The locals warmly welcome you and the service to tourists is renowned.
Manila: This great metropolis is a mix between the past and the future. The preserved old quarter of Intramuros dating back to the 16th century contrasts sharply with the upscale neighborhood of Makati and its build- ings reminiscent of those of America. Manila is often bottled and polluted, but offers many attractions. The nightlife is intense.
Luzon: The largest island in the Philippines has many treasures, starting with the Banaue rice fields. Considered the 8th wonder of the world, rice terraces are beautifully clutched on the hills. You can also see Batad's next door. The caves and waterfalls of Sagada, a few kilometers are worth it. In the area, the city of Baguio is famous for its climate and its market. When you go up the coast to the north, the small town of Vigan is sublime. Colonial architecture and cabs seem to go back in time.
Boracay: This is one of the most famous places in the country. Very touristy, the small island is known for its White Beach and its point of view since the Mount Luho.
Negros Island: On this island, Dumaguete is a good base for exploring the surrounding area. Manjuyod Beach, the seabed of Mamsa Point, the surroundings of Mount Talinis, and the cascade of waterfalls are every- where.
Cebu: On the island of Cebu is the city of the same name which is also the second city of the country. Cebu has some landmarks like Fort San Pedro but there is no need to hang around here.
Bohol: The island of Bohol is very interesting. Staying in Tagbilaran, Panglao, or at one of the resorts on the south coast of the island, you can visit the Chocolate Hills, where 1268 green hills in the shape of a rounded pyramid form an amazing horizon. It is on this island that we meet the tarsier, tiny monkey with big eyes (he looks like Master Yoda).
Palawan: This long and thin tongue of land west of the Visayas is a popular destination for tourism. El Nido, for example, is a paradise at the end of the main island.
