Rick Reinert’s formal art education took place in the early 1970’s
at Western Kentucky University. His arts education continued to evolve over the years, and he exhibited large, expressionistic works in one-man shows throughout Germany and Canada.
After his initial success, Reinert took time o  to establish two small businesses and to raise his family. During this time, his commitment to painting was renewed, and he began creating art again. He painted through the night and slowly established the unique and passionate style that he is known for today.
Painting seven days a week, nine hours a day, Reinert continues to challenge himself as one of America’s most proli c painters. This dedication and hard work has paid o , and his paintings have won accolades across the country.
“Ships of the Heartland’ was chosen in 2008 as one the top
100 paintings in the “Paint America” competition, and “Southern Radiance” was chosen as one of the top 200 paintings in the
“Oil Painters of America” exhibition held in Montana in that same year. In February 2009, he was the subject of a cover story in the Sunshine Artist magazine. Reinert was chosen as a featured artist at the Gadsden Museum of Art Southeastern Plein Air Competition held in Gadsden, Alabama, and was featured for the eighth time in American Art Collector Magazine, November 2014.
Throughout his career Reinert has won numerous Best of Show and People’s Choice awards, In 2012 his painting “Dusk at King and Queen” was chosen “Best of Show, Mayors Purchase Award” at the Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition.
