Fast forward eight months and what a year it had been for Callum. He had over goals already with two games to go, and if he could help the Cherries beat Bolton they would be promoted to the Premier League for the rst time.
The Bolton defenders must have known that stopping
Callum was going to be a di cult task, but they
managed to keep him wrapped up for minutes –
the problem was that the Cherries were in such good
form that Marc Pugh and Matt Ritchie already had them two goals up by then!
Callum wanted to join the goalscoring party though, and he soon did just that. The ball was played low into the box and his rst touch was perfect, turning him around his marker and giving him the space to stab into the net, - and the Cherries were going up!
With goals, Callum was the club’s top scorer, he was “Bournemouth’s goal machine”, and now the team would be rubbing shoulders with the big guns of the Premier League!

Welcome to the top flight
Could the Cherries survive in the Premier League, and could Callum make another step up? We’d lost our rst two games - and West Ham away was the next tough task.
Swish! Callum struck to turn home Simon Francis’ cross and he and the Cherries had their rst top- ight goal.
Flash! Callum pounced on a defensive lapse and buried his nish past the ‘keeper to give the visitors breathing space.
Slide! Callum places home his penalty after Max Gradel was fouled in the box – the Cherries were on their way to their rst Premier League points and Callum had scored a hat-trick!
The striker scored two more in his next three games, now it was time for Premier League to learn about our goal machine!
