Well the “Dog Days of Summer” have officially arrived...remember to hydrate while you celebrate! The 4th of July is my second favorite holiday after Christmas because we get to reflect on freedom, our dreams, and appreciate the great country we get to live in; while spending time outdoors with friends and family lighting up the night sky, grilling up delicious food and living the American dream! However, we must not forget the sacrifices that so many Americans have made and are currently making for this freedom. I would like to challenge our members to do something nice for our military men and women. It can be as simple as to thank someone for their service and pay for their coffee, write a letter or send a care package to someone overseas, donate to Newby-Ginnings, offer a smile and statement of thanks, just let them know that they are on our hearts and we appreciate their service.
Here are some good resources to help. & deployed-troops-really-want-in-their-care-packages/
And now for the fun stuff, July is full of it! July 9th -11th will be one big celebration in the River City! The Post Falls Parade is looking to be the largest one yet, don’t miss it Saturday, July 10th at 10 am.
Then, starting July 14th and running every Wednesday from 4-7:30 pm through August 11th, in partnership with the City of Post Falls, the JACC and presented by Jordan Sales and Service; the Post Falls Chamber is proud to announce the River City Market and Music! A farmer’s market-style event on 4th Avenue with live bands starting at 6 pm. Come out and enjoy all that Post Falls has to offer!
July 20th is our monthly Connect 4 Lunch meeting. We are thrilled to welcome Chad Ingle, Program Manager for Kootenai County Public Transportation, as our keynote speaker. Chad will be talking about the innovative solutions Kootenai County has coming for public transportation. We will be back at Red Lion Templin’s on the River. Please register by July 15th at 5 pm. You won’t want to miss this program.
We will be conducting interviews for the class of 2022 for our River City Leadership Academy (RCLA) at the end of July, and we have a stellar group of applicants so far!
Registration is open until July 23rd, so if you are considering attending, please get your applications in now. RCLA students build life-long relationships while learning about our community through a series of discovery days that include: History, Economic Development, Health Care, and Education just to name a few. RCLA was established in 2009 and has seen over 250 community leaders complete the leadership program.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available, please contact the chamber for more information.
In closing, a HUGE thank you to all the men and women who are serving, have served or support those that have served in our Nation’s Military and I would like to wish all of you a Safe and Happy 4th of July!
Warm Regards,
