     5.4. Exponential Functions and Graphing Exponents
An exponential function is of the form
y = Abx, where A is constant, and b is a positive integer other than 1.
When b > 1, the exponential function has growth proportional to the original value and it’s called exponential growth.
When 0 < b < 1, the exponential function has a decay proportional to the original value and it’s called exponential decay.
   REMEMBER:
   If a quantity A changes at a rate of r% exponentially, then the present value of the quantity ‘y’ after ‘x’ successive times is given by:
• Growth
y = A(1 + r)x
• Decay
y = A(1 – r)x
