Today’s successful schools are those that persistently evaluate the content they are teaching, their strategies for teaching, and their systems to support the needs of each student. The most e ective decisions are based on meaningful achievement data, not anecdotal impressions. HMH Professional Services provides solutions to help turn that data into actionable insights.
DATA TEAMS
Data Teams is a collaborative model for implementing data-driven decision making at the instructional level, providing an e ective process for educators to convert their good intentions into good results.
Data Teams are small teams of teachers who share a common learning goal for their students. These grade-level, department, course, or content teams analyze student work and make use of common priority standards, common formative assessments, and rubrics during their meetings. As a result of their inquiry, Data Teams innovate to improve instruction
and facilitate student achievement. The process enables schools and school systems to break down the silos of individual practice to create truly professional teams of educators who continuously re ect on and improve their practice.
DATA INSIGHT
HMH Data Insight is a service-based solution designed to help K-12 school districts turn their volumes of data into meaningful and actionable insights. These insights will enable district leaders at all levels to make mission critical decisions, grounded in data, to improve teaching and learning. At a high level, there are three phases to Data Insights:
• Setting A Vision: Needs assessment and strategic planning
• Analyzing Data: Data acquisition, con guration, and analysis
• Enabling Success: Data consultation and coaching
Data Insight is much more than a data analysis technology; it is a services-driven solution designed to improve the capacity of district and school leaders. Throughout the Data Insight process, HMH’s data consultants provide ongoing professional development and coaching focused on the fundamental principles of data governance and data management. As a part of this process, the HMH Project Management team is there to guide, organize, and support implementation success.
