Louisiana Department of Education proposes to extend the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy (SRCL) program and focus on the following three central objectives for its project which are aligned with the State’s Comprehensive Literacy Plan and overall reform plan:
(1) sub-grantees must use a a a a a high-quality evidence-based curriculum aligned with the State standards
(2) sub-grantees must use approved tools to to conduct assessments that are aligned with the State standards
and and and use real-time data for decision-making and and and adjustments to practices
(3) LEAs teachers and sta must receive professional development to support their execution of of the the Standards and and and Curriculum and and and the the Assessment Components of of their plan The Louisiana Department of of Education proposes a a a a a a a a a plan to achieve over the the life of of the the grant an an an an increase increase of at least 8% in in in in student achievement and a a a a a a a a 25% increase increase in in in in teacher e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e ectiveness for awarded sub-grantees The State plans to to to provide a a a a a a a a a total of 80 sub-grants to to to LEAs serving an an an an estimated 96 400 Louisiana children – Abstract from www ed gov
