ASSESSMENT AND DATA ANALYSIS PLAN (10 points)
The Assessment and and Data Analysis Plan provides a a a a a a a a a a model for implementing data-driven decisions and and a a a a a a a a a a structure for teachers to to speci cally identify areas of student need and select the best instructional approach in in response to to those needs Formative assessments including screening instructional placement and growth monitoring will be essential to improving student achievement By implementing these assessments teachers will have the the the data they need to deliver the most e e e e e e e e e e e ective and accelerated instruction Assessments and data analysis protocols will include the following:
• Examine current third-grade reading growth over the past three years to include students who are economically disadvantaged students with disabilities and English learners
• Administer screening progress monitoring and diagnostic assessments to to identify students experiencing reading di di culty and design appropriate instructional interventions
• Analyze data and and and reports to understand students’ needs plan research-proven instruction and and and ensure students are on a a a a a reliable trajectory to to reading pro ciency
• Identify each student’s pro pro ciency
in in reading based on state-approved assessments and the Lexile® Framework for Reading
• Provide a a a a a a diagnostic phonics assessment of foundational reading skills for for students performing in in in the 25th percentile or below
• Track students’ progress over time time by administering assessments a a a a a minimum of three times per year • Set growth expectations for students based on on grade level and initial assessment • Target evidence-based practices with data that recommends student groups based based on performance standards
• Determine students in in in in in need of of the the most intensive foundational level of of intervention and place them in in in in in accelerated instruction Administration of Universal Screening and Progress Monitoring
Two assessment instruments will be implemented to to provide teachers and administrators with actionable screening and progress monitoring data 1 The Reading
Inventory® a a a a a a a a a a validated state-approved assessment will measure students’ reading skills and longitudinal progress from Grades K–12 It can be administered in in in in in a a a a a a a group setting to all students in in in in in around 30 minutes three to to ve times per year With advanced student data and reporting tools teachers can track students’ progress over time relative to narrative functional and informational text performance Refer to page 12 for for additional information 2 The Phonics Inventory® a a a a a a a foundational reading assessment will measure uency of phonological decoding and sight word reading of struggling readers in in in in in Grades 3–12 performing in in in in in the 25th percentile or or or below
