Fun Family Activity:
Joseph was put in prison with a baker and a cupbearer. The primary task of a baker and cupbearer were to provide food and drink for the king. This was important because they had unique access to the him and also were “food security” to make sure no one tried to poison him. As a family make cupcakes together. Assign someone to be a baker, cupbearer and the king/queen. In one of the cupcakes, put a fun but safe ingredient such as a few chocolate chips or berries of some sort. The job of cupbearer is to make sure the king doesn’t eat the one with the fun ingredient. If the king or queen does, they will pretend they were “poisoned.” After everyone enjoys cupcakes together, talk about the importance of a baker and cupbearer to a king/ queen. Also talk about how God is starting to use these special connections in the life of Joseph.
