We may not have noticed it yet, but pigs are slowly taking over the planet! There are an estimated two billion of them, living on every continent except Antarctica. Humans are partly to blame – pigs have been a part of our lives for thousands of years. In this film, we follow the many lives of pigs and ask, what is the key to their remarkable success?

This series explores the unspoilt natural world along the Amur river, from its headwaters in Mongolia to its estuary in the northern Pacific. We meet Amur tigers, bears, gazelles and Manchurian cranes and follow soft-shelled Chinese turtles and taimen. Find out about traditional communities that battle to survive in a unique and, to western eyes, largely unknown environment, interwoven with shots of awe- inspiring sceneries, complete the picture.

As a species, we humans have an unattractive tendency to believe in our own superiority. We think we’re the only ones with an inner life, with feelings and morals. But this documentary series explores the unexpected wonders of the animal world and helps to show that nature always has something to teach us. If we could only regard our fellow inhabitants of the planet with wonder and respect, we might find that everyone benefits.

If the Mississippi river was a playlist, it would be a crazy mix, and each hour of this series explores a radically different location along North America’s greatest waterway. In the north, predators like wolves and bobcats prowl. In the Midwest, giant sturgeon occupy the waterway while black bears and coyotes hunt the banks. In the south, wild pigs dodge alligators, and swarms of jellyfish mingle by the millions.

What if you could talk to animals and have them talk back to you? Anna Breytenbach has dedicated her life to communication. She sends messages to animals through pictures and thoughts, and receives messages back! Anna can feel the scars hidden under a monkey’s fur or turn a snarling leopard into a contented cat. Wild birds land on her shoulders, fish gather around her legs, and wild baboons lie on her body as if she is one of their own.

Animals build homes for very similar reasons to our own, but they have been doing it for much longer. Built with great complexity, usually with found materials, and sometimes with materials made from their own bodies. In this series, together with ecologist Chris Morgan we investigate how skillful and diverse animal engineering and architecture can be, and explore the intriguing behaviours and social interactions that take place in and around animal homes.
