Al Madrigal, explores the confusing reality of being half, dealing with white people who think he’s Mexican and Latinos who don’t think he’s Latino enough. Growing up, Al was the portrait - albeit the slightly brown version - of a red-blooded American. Add to that not speaking Spanish or being able to properly pronounce his own name, Al has earned a perfect 10 on the Pocho meter...but he hasn’t earned the Mexican citizenship his dad recently gifted him. In this one-hour docu-comedy, we’ll follow Al as he gets a therapy session from the “godfather of all Mexicans,” Jorge Ramos; tunes up his fútbol game with LA Galaxy star, Omar Gonzalez; goes back to school to learn Spanish (from American elementary school kids), talks about being an outsider on both sides with historian and Latino studies professor, Dr. Vicki L. Ruiz; and challenges living legend and Oscar winner Speedy Gonzales on playing up stereotypes.
In Rutland, Vermont, a young dad is torn between his kids and his struggle to score smack. He’s just one addict in an idyllic town in the Green Mountains that has been transformed by heroin. Follow Justin Bemis’s harrowing story, over two years, from addiction to recovery. Along the way we trace American heroin from users in suburbia to the guerilla controlled mountains of Colombia, meet the poppy farmers and professional “cooks” who feed domestic appetites, as well as the anti drug cops trying to catch them.

‘Living With Spirits’ shows us the South East Asian inhabitants living their daily lives with spirits and ghosts, which are deeply ingrained in South East Asian Buddhism. People don’t take their presence lightly. Good spirits must be placated, or there will be severe consequences. Rituals, such as body piercing and other acts of self- mortification undertaken by mediums of the gods, are a way of connecting with the spirits. There are good spirits and bad spirits. They are all very real and everywhere. In forests, in rural villages, homes, or just howling through temples. Overriding their whims can be devastating. Disrespecting their sneezes, disastrous. Bad spirits and demons are darkness and feared. Mysterious illnesses and accidents are blamed on ghosts or bad spirits. Good spirits may heal and protect people from bad. Jump into an unknown, spiritual world that few people even know exists.
