5 – CANBY RODEO
Clackamas County Letter
As Chair of the Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners, it’s my pleasure to welcome you back to the Clackamas County Fair, the Canby Rodeo, and the City of Canby.
This year, we not only celebrate the grand traditions of our wonderful fair and rodeo, we
celebrate a return to a greater sense of normalcy as we emerge from COVID-19.
Once again, we welcome professional rodeo contestants from all over the country who will thrill us with their amazing skills and feats as they compete for top prizes. As Canby’s largest event of the year, the fair attracts thousands of people from across Oregon to celebrate all things Western and enjoy exciting rides, great food, live music, popular 4H and livestock events and so much more. Welcome back and let’s have fun together! Have a wonderful week and I will see you at the fair and rodeo!

Rodeo Association Letter
The Canby Rodeo Association was established in 2008 as a 501(c) 3 or- ganization. The main purpose was to raise sponsorships to underwrite the expenses of the Canby Rodeo at the Clackamas County Fair.
The annual budget to produce the rodeo is about $250,000. The funds raised through the sponsorship plus the rodeo gate receipts are the two major sources of income.
Over the past 13+ years the Association has raised in excess of $1,000,000 for the rodeo support. In addition to the rodeo’s expense funding there have been funds expended for materials for the rodeo arena capitol improvements.
Another very important aspect of the Association’s mission is our community outreach as noted by the fol- lowing contributions:
Cancer Awareness: $31,360
Scholarships: $42,500 (34 individual scholarships awarded)
Junior Livestock Auction: $9,762
Junior Rodeo: $2,150
Honor Flight: $7,000
Canby Adult Center: $2,434
Steelheader’s Association: $500
Various amounts throughout the year for 4-H and FFA activities
Canby Rodeo could not reach this level of contribution without the support of our loyal sponsors and partners in our mission. We would like to give our sincere thanks to our sponsors for their commitment to the Canby Rodeo. We also value the partnership with the Fair Board and appreciate their support. We extend a big thank you to the Canby Rodeo Board of Directors, the Canby Rodeo Associate members and great group of volunteers who work all year to make the Canby Rodeo so successful. Together we will be able to continue to do this great work in our community.
