ensuring that through whatever means, God will ensure that His word continues to flow into us.
This prayer is in a sense to activate God’s ‘pruning’ ministry in our lives so that we can bear more fruit and continue on that path while He is away.
What we learn as well from this prayer is that it is important that the word of God continues to do its cleaning or running work in our lives so that we can abide continuously bearing fruit in our walk on the earth. This prayer is thus at the very heart of God because as we have seen in John 15:1-2 and 16, God’s expectation from us in life is to bear fruit and to ensure that our fruit remains. Any prayer that is focused on ensuring that this mandate is fulfilled in our life is dear to the heart of God and is sure to receive answer always. It is sure to be a ‘bullseye’ prayer!
We Must Be Blameless Before God
“Sanctify them with your truth. Your word is truth,” Jesus prayed for His disciples. We ought to follow in His steps. We must, therefore, be praying always for ‘our disciples’ that God will sanctify them also with the word of truth. This is one prayer that must characterise our personal prayer lives.
