The Other Jobs

Links to other jobs were always going to be inevitable with Brown in charge, and with a promotion in the bag there were plenty of jobs he was linked to in the nearly ve years he was with us.
The trouble was, he never really played
down any of the links. Quite the opposite, in fact. He seemed to be actively announcing himself as being linked to the job, giving quotes about it being a job he’d love, before throwing in the “but I’m doing a job here” caveat. Many saw through this charade, but with the position he’d created for himself within the media, every time a job at a former club became available he was able to push himself towards the top of the favourites list and so was always strongly linked to the vacant roles, even though the clubs never actually seemed to take much notice.
Eventually after linking-but-not-linking himself to jobs at Sunderland, Hull, Bolton and even England (LOL) the fans really began to grow weary of our manager trying to whore himself out to any former club who lost their manager.
