Are you SUEPA engaged?
We currently have over 750 followers on our Twitter page and 350 on our Facebook page. Posts are put up as soon as the fax machine spews out details of another new member (no medical examination needed) so you can keep up to date with how things are going. If you are not following SUEPA yet, you can nd us at:

Look us up, hit the ‘follow’ or ‘like’ button, and join in.
So what next?
Well, our immediate aim is simply to grow the SUEPA family numbers. We estimate that there must be at least 1,000 living ex- Shrimpers so, whilst we have made a great start, there is enough growth potential out there to blow the fax machine fuse and even make ‘sign ‘em up and pile them high’ Barry Fry go green with envy.
In many ways SUEPA is like a real-life/ online sticker album, and part of the fun is looking to build up sets (and, unless the admin goes awry, we should never have a ‘swapsie’). For instance, we already have seven of the 12 players who turned out in the snow in front of 31,000 at Roots Hall in 1979 when Liverpool came to town, and we would love to complete the set. Laverick, Fell, Parker D, Yates and Stead where are you? And for those of you with slightly more mature memories, it would be great to nd Big Bill Garner to complete that iconic Best, Moore and Garner forward line.
We will be issuing regular newsletters to the members to keep them engaged (though a number are among the growing band of SUEPA Twitter and Facebook followers). Through this we can also facilitate them getting in touch with each other directly if they so wish.
We also in time will look to start organising SUEPA member visits to Roots Hall on match days, perhaps with a particular theme such as team members who were part of a cup run (so we will need to go back a few years for that).
Do you have a SUEPA lead?
Do you have any information which would help us expand the SUEPA squad? If you do then do let us know, no matter how tenuous it might be, and we will look to follow it up. We have ace detectives at the ready.
You can get in touch with SUEPA via email at: suepassoc@gmail.com
Alternatively, you can write to us at: SUEPA c/o The Shrimpers Trust, PO Box 5830, Southend-on-Sea, Essex SS1 9FD.
You can also come and say hello to the friendly Shrimpers Trust folk on match days who you will nd supping pints around the table in the far corner of the Shrimpers Bar (under the East Stand).
We dearly want the SUEPA initiative, from its great start, to become an established part of this club of ours, and will be very pleased to hear from you.
