MATT BERRY NAMED BRANDSOURCE’S DIRECTOR OF SPECIATLTY CHANNELS
his past February, Matt Berry was promoted to director of specialty channels for AVB/BrandSource. In his new position, Matt acts as liaison between BrandSource and strategic partners
such as Maytag, HFA (Home Furnishing Association) and NECO (The Northeast Company). As BrandSource’s representative to these prominent customer channels, Matt communicates with over 1,000 BrandSource members in an effort to encourage cooperation and increase purchasing power. His new responsibilities regularly place him at furniture markets and trade shows where he can meet directly with partners and potential customers. “I help them take advantage of the best BrandSource has to offer in terms of our advertising and buying programs. Doing everything we can for the member to keep them competitive and profitable is our No. 1 goal,” he says.
Previously, Matt was director of home appliances for BrandSource’s Expert Warehouse division where he worked closely with manufacturers to determine individual and group programs. Prior to joining BrandSource in 2014, Matt worked as a district manager for MEGA Group USA from 2012-2013, where he worked in a similar capacity in utilizing the company’s manufacturer programs for its customers while maximizing profitability.
He began his career with Maytag in 1990 where he worked for more than 20 years.
Matt has a BS in Marketing from Iowa State. He currently resides in Sioux Falls, SD with his 2 daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys biking, attending sporting events and getting out on Lake Okoboji.

LIZ NELSEN COMES ABOARD AS BRANDSOURCE’S
MARKETING COORDINATOR
Liz Nelsen was recently hired as marketing coordinator for AVB/ BrandSource. In her new post, Liz will act as a jack-of-all-trades while assisting John White in his duties as chief marketing officer. She also will have added responsibilities at BrandSource’s numerous conventions where she will manage the creation of theme designs, brochures, and ads. Liz is enthusiastic about her new position particularly her role at the upcoming Summit 2017 in Orlando. “My goal is to become the best at what I do and create beautiful designs. I love that with this new opportunity, I will be able to acquire new skills, continue learning, and be involved in various tasks in support of BrandSource events,” she says.
Prior to her hiring by BrandSource, Liz spent nine years as a senior designer for David Riley Associates in Newport Beach, California where her primary function was brand development, which included producing brochures, ads, and signage. She also worked as a senior designer for Lennar from 2003-07 in Aliso Viejo. Her responsibilities at Lennar included the design and development of marketing and stationary items.
Liz’s initial education was in architectural design. She earned a degree in Architectural Technology from Golden West College. She later switched gears and began concentrating on graphic design.
