P. 7
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise, And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies, And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun, Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done, And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there

THE FUNERAL EUCHARIST
- Reception of the Body -
The Celebrant meets the body and says:
With faith in Jesus Christ, we receive the remains of our sister Angela for burial. Our sister was washed in Holy Baptism and anointed with the Holy Spirit. Let us therefore, with confidence, pray to God our Heavenly Father, the Giver of Life, that He will raise her to perfection in the company of the saints.
Celebrant:
Congregation:
Celebrant:
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Let us pray.
O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day our sister Angela. We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and love as a companion on her earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console
us who morn. Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life so that in quiet confidence we may continue our course on earth, until, by your call, we are reunited with those have gone before; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Congregation: Amen.
The following sentences are read:
Jesus said, I am the resurrection, and I am the life; he who believes in me. Though he dies, yet shall he live, and who ever lives and believes in me shall never die.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His compassion never fails: every morning they are renewed. [Lamentations 3:22-23]
Jesus said, let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. [John 14:1]
I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We brought nothing into the world, and we take nothing out. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away: Blessed be the name of the Lord. [Job 1:21]
At the conclusion of the sermon, the congregation stands, and is led in the Nicene Creed
[John 11:25-26]
[Romans 14:8-9]
