Father’s Day Brunch
The Father’s Day Brunch went o  without a hitch, on Saturday, June 17th, thanks to the organizing by Chairman Lorana Laliberte and Terry Cloutier. Sandy Point Catering put on a Fabulous Breakfast Bu et and it was enjoyed by the many that joined us to kick-o , yet, another new tradition at our Lodge for our families to enjoy for years to come!
We had the great honor of paying tribute to John Loiko and presenting him with the Lodge Cane, which represents his 62 years of Membership and his being the longest tenured Member of our Lodge. John was also honored with the 1st “Father” of the Year Award. It was heartwarming to see our Members Lounge  lled with family, friends and fellow Elks to share in this special occasion. Congratulations, John, we thank you for your loyalty, dedication and commitment to Elkdom.
We were also honored to share a special moment at our Lodge when Dave Hassen, Maine Elks Association Veterans Chairman presented John Brennan with an Eagles Cane in Honor of his Service to our Country. John has been a member of our Lodge for the past 2 years. John, we thank you for your service and want you to know that we are very proud to have you in our midst.

ELKS GOLF LEAGUE
Sunday July 9 the First annual Elks Firecracker Open to be held at Westernview Golf Course starting time is Between noon and one PM Entry fee is $40 per person + $5 per person for a meal for more information and sign up please contact Jim Balmer @ 624-2267.
Cribbage
Tournament
Club Open Cribbage tournament to be held at the Augusta Elks Lodge on July 22-23, players from local fraternal Organizations will be coming together to compete for the highly coveted prize of Cribbage ch ion of the World, or maybe just the Greater Augusta area. Please contact Gary Minoty @ 446-0105 to sign up to compete.
SOFTBALL
Weekend of September 9-10 the Augusta Elks will be hosting an Elks over 35 Coed Softball tournament. we are hoping to have several Elks lodges participate in this event. Men will have to be over the age of 35 and ladies will be required to be 21 years of age to play. This promises to be a great weekend in Elkdom. Emblem News
2017/2018 State of Maine Association of Emblem Clubs President, Kim Matthews pins outgoing 2016/2017 State President, Lori Howlett at the State Convention held in Augusta.
Congratulations, Lori on a successful year and on behalf of the Augusta Elks, Kim, we wish you the very best in 2017/2018!
