Montag Modus
Montag Modus is a site-specific interdisciplinary series that centers around performance, choreography and time-based media. Since 2015, each event presents multiple works and offers a one-week onsite residency to the artists.
From its beginnings, it investigates different methodologies of how to present live art and tests the formats of these events. In the frame of this ongoing research, it continues to question which forms of knowledge arise through the combination of live works.
MMpraxis is led collectively by the curator-dramaturge Léna Szirmay- Kalos, art historian Dániel Kovács and choreographer Jasna L. Vinovrški.
Montag Modus was founded in 2015 by Léna Szirmay-Kalos and Kata Krasznahorkai.
The series was originally funded by and located at the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin (CHB) with the purpose of presenting Berlin- based and Hungarian artists together.
Since 2019, the independent curatorial collective MMpraxis has taken a directorial role of the series in continued collaboration with the CHB.
