'To allege' is the second performance I made with Public in Private. We had lots of press coverage, but very little time and money. I made a piece in the form of a game I used to play to give names to things in 'Allege'. 'To allege' was about renaming the world, pretending the things are other, and the order can be altered. The five players present and play with already renamed objects and later baptise one of the chairs of the theatre. At the end we drink champaign with the audience. I had the fantasy that 'To allege' could be placed on top of the table featured in 'Allege', and that all the performances I would do later could enter into each other in various ways like that.

A community of meaning, of associations, of objects, a community of in between, a desired community, an aimless community, a semantic community, an attempt to create a community in the world as it is in a theatre.
