 Purpose of the PCMI
The purpose of the PCMI is to monitor developments in Photo Chemical Machining and to address problems that may affect the process or the industry worldwide.
Specifically:
• To improve manufacturing and process control techniques.
• To promote among its members the highest environmental standards.
• To expand the scope of interest of the Institute beyond that of the etching process to include
electroforming, laser cutting, plating, shaping, piercing, laminating, metals technology and such other activities that may involve or affect chemical machining.

Those engaged in the manufacturing of parts using PCM technology for their own products or as an independent contractor.
Those engaged in the manufacturing and/or supplying materials, chemistry, tooling, equipment and other materials or supplies or consulting services used by those engaged in the PCM industry. Also includes those companies providing services such as plating, forming and other secondary operations.
These members are elected at the discretion of the PCMI’s Board of Directors. These members are generally individuals with colleges and universities who have been engaged in the education and/
or research related to the PCM process or are affiliated with government organizations involved with PCM.
Senior members must be over 62 years of age and be semi-retired or retired from the PCM industry.
At its discretion, the Board of Directors may elect any individual
to Honorary membership who has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of PCM technology.
