Coverage Gap
Approximately 2.5 million adults nationwide do not have affordable health insurance options—
they make too much to qualify
for Medicaid, work in jobs that don’t offer benefits, or don’t earn enough to get a subsidy to lower the cost of private health coverage. As of 2019, 14 states have not expanded Medicaid.
