Westown is a development by SODIC in partnership with Soli- dere International, envisioned as a planned community and new town centre which aims to anchor the expanding suburbs of West Cairo.
The first phase of the project will be realised on an 80,000m2 plot and will comprise 168,000m2 of built-up area. The focal point of this will be a 375m-long pe- destrian spine, anchored by the 120,000m2 (GLA) Westown Mall.
Solidere International appointed Visionnaire as development con- sultants for the Westown Spine, tasked with defining the develop- ment and programme parameters for plots within this first phase of the project. Visionnaire’s master- planning team advised on zoning analysis, concept and programme development, space planning and options appraisal, which culmi- nated in a comprehensive strategy for the roll-out of this important phase of the development.
