Eco Angus Boiler sees Venue profit from Renewable Heat Solution
ALDWICK COURT Farm, located in Somerset, is a popular venue for weddings, wine tasting and events. Heating was previously provided by expensive and ine cient oil boilers.
It was necessary to provide an environmentally friendly solution capable of providing heating and hot water to the whole site including; farmhouse, visitor centre, function and event Rooms, offices and a flat.
With Eco Angus’ help Blake Ecotec installers installed an environmentally friendly, high powered solution capable of providing heating and hot water across the entire site. A barn was constructed
to house an Eco Angus Orlan Super 130kW log gasification boiler, 10,000 litre Akvarterm accumulator tank and NOVA stainless steel flue.
The boiler’s 130kW heat output and large loading capacity means it is capable of burning logs, with moisture content of 15-20%, up to 100cm in length. It works at 91% efficiency and can burn for up to 12 hours continuously. This high efficiency means, during summer months, a single weekly load will ensure enough hot water is provided.
It is not only an eco-friendly and sustainable source of heat but financially rewarding as it’s compliant with the Non-
Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Aldwick Farm will receive government payments of 8.8p per kWh of heat generated over a 20 year period, a total of approximately £403,900.
The system will deliver substantial fuel cost savings of £258,636 and they will gain approximately £662,500 additional income over the 20 year scheme. The savings
will see the initial outlay paid off in just over one year and turning a profit for the remaining 19 years of the scheme.
The site’s carbon footprint will be reduced by 36 tonnes of CO2 per year, a 90% reduction.
