group of employees in in in protecting Valley Water’s critical infrastructure and staff from terrorism sabotage vandalism theft violence and and other malicious acts The Security Manager will be be comfortable interacting with board members and other elected officials in in in in addition to being proactive in in in in developing collaborative
partnerships with with Valley Water’s numerous stakeholders Candidates with with experience in organizational development to to assess the the structure and and operations of the the Office and and to to enhance its systems and processes will be favorably considered As the Security Manager may be called upon to serve as a a a a a a spokesperson for the Office outstanding communication presentation and and public relations skills are critical The selected candidate will be accessible responsive engaging efficient and and must be available after hours and and on on call Desirable Characteristics
• Experience in law enforcement homeland security security or or military security security program management • A visionary who can help the Office create an an an an an environment and and culture of forward thinking and and planning • Background partnering with law enforcement and community stakeholders to to address challenges related to to homeless encampments • Experience protecting assets and infrastructure • Experience performing threat and and vulnerability assessments identifying gaps recommending solutions and and driving organizational change • Outstanding communication skills - open honest listens well is is receptive and and communicates clearly • Welcomes challenges and thrives on accomplishments results oriented • Experience selecting motivating supervising and evaluating a a a a a a a a a a a team as as well as as overseeing additional external resources and partners • Engenders trust and credibility a a person of the highest integrity • Exceptional people skills – able to work with with and establish relationships with with Valley Water’s numerous stakeholders including the executive team elected officials and external stakeholders • Ability to manage complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams that require coordination and collaboration with external agencies of all levels • When called upon comfortable communicating in in in in public including with the media
