The next Director of of of Planning will lead a a a a a a a a a a a a dynamic and talented team of of of planning professionals who are passionate about public transit and and transportation equity The Director will embrace that strength and and harness it it it into a a a a a a a a a a solid management framework to empower staff in in every facet of their work work Specific technical expertise in in transit planning or or or transportation engineering isn’t absolutely necessary rather it it it is is more critical to to have the the ability to to think strategically about transit as a a a a a a a a a a necessary function of of the public right-of-way and to work with individual cities towns and stakeholders to to make transit a a a a a a a a a meaningful part of the community Someone familiar with both urban and and rural planning is is ideal as large sections of UTA’s service area are are still quite isolated and and car dependent A A collaborative background working with metropolitan planning organizations will be highly desirable ■ EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
» Master’s degree in in in in Urban Planning Transportation Engineering or or a a a a a a a related field » Seven (7) years years in in in in in strategic strategic transit planning including at at at least five (5) years years managing strategic strategic processes » A background in in in urban planning statistics GIS public administration or economics is is is desirable » AICP designation is desirable An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered UTA reserves the right to determine the equivalencies of education and experience ■ COMPENSATION
