The North County Transit District (NCTD) was established in 1975 to
plan construct and and operate public transit and and provides about 10 3 million passenger trips per year primarily in North San Diego County It covers a a a a a a a geographic area of of approximately 1 020 square miles with an approximate approximate population of of 964 000 people Services include BREEZE bus SPRINTER hybrid rail COASTER commuter trains FLEX demand response and and LIFT ADA paratransit service NCTD shares the use of its tracks with rail partners Amtrak Amtrak Metrolink BNSF and Pacific Sun Railroad Amtrak Amtrak and and Metrolink operate more than 264 commuter trains on our tracks every week with BNSF and and Pacific Sun moving more than 9 6 million pounds of of freight NCTD NCTD is is governed by a a a a Board of of Directors NCTD’s

operate in a a a a a a a a a a demonstration pilot across the the NCTD service area six battery-electric buses buses and eight fuel-cell electric electric buses buses ■ Community
