As As the Assistant Chief Probation Officer of Marin
County you’ll make meaningful change at at an an an an individual level The Department is committed to the preservation of public safety by providing evidence-based prevention investigation and and supervision services as as well as as a a a a a a a a a a safe environment for staff and and those placed in in its custodial care The Assistant Chief Probation Officer helps lead approximately 105 full-time employees a a a a a a $24 5 5 million budget and and is is charged with implementing pragmatic administrative and and policy initiatives according to the Department’s strategic plan The Assistant Chief Probation Officer will play a a a a a a a a a a major role in in the the internal management of the the Department including supervising and mentoring the four Division Directors (Juvenile Services Juvenile Juvenile Hall Adult Services Services and Administrative Services) to serve the the best interest of the the public The Assistant Chief Chief Probation Probation Officer Officer is is is appointed by the Chief Chief Probation Probation Officer Officer However it it is is is also critically important for the the the the Assistant Chief to work in close collaboration with the the the the other departments such as the the the the Superior Court District Attorney Sheriff’s Office and Public Defender The Probation Department operates to ensure that offenders are held accountable for criminal law violations by completing their court-ordered sentences Probation is the the lynchpin that ensures compliance as as well as as the opportunity of services services that include but are not limited to mental health services services cognitive behavioral treatment treatment substance abuse treatment treatment community services victim restitution home supervision intensive supervision and and detention and/or treatment at at a a a a a a a County juvenile institution or or in in a a a a a a a group home placement To learn more go to: marincounty org | FY22 County Budget Document
