THE POSITION
Appointed by and and reporting to to to an an an an an an appointed Board of Directors the the CEO/Risk Manager provides risk risk management management advice and and and and support to to to local member agencies This includes overseeing the the the the risk risk management management and and and and the the the the self-insured/investment funds of of the the the the Joint Power Authority (JPA) as as well as as claims and and and and litigation management management budgeting fiscal management management and and overall supervision of of the the the JPA JPA The primary function of the the the CEO/Risk Manager is is is is to to oversee a a a a a a a a a a a a risk funding mechanism that protects the the the members’ collective financial exposures as as well as as providing an an an an an in-house resource to to the the the the various member member agencies This includes handling the the the JPA’s self-insured programs which include include Workers’ Compensation Property Liability and and and Fidelity Additionally the the CEO/Risk Manager performs various risk management and and and loss control functions provides guidance related to to applicable Federal (OSHA ADA etc etc ) ) State (Cal OSHA OSHA etc etc ) ) and and and local laws codes and and and regulations in in fin order to to minimize financial exposures and and and serves as the the fiscal manager of the JPA Essential Job Functions

to the the members in the the area of workers’ ◆ compensation security safety property and liability ◆ ◆ Responds to and and conducts incident ◆ ◆ investigations and and inspections ◆ Develops and delivers presentations to a a a a a a wide
array of audiences ◆ ◆ Prepares reports agenda packets spreadsheets etc ◆ Establishes a a a a a a a a rapport and and works cohesively with the the the Board the the the staff staff and and the the the staffs of member agencies ◆ Develops and maintains risk management programs provides technical direction regarding safety hazard assessment loss prevention and related programs to assist the JPA in in complying with standards policies and and procedures Reviews weekly injury reports and develops training as appropriate for member agencies Reviews property liability and workers’ compensation loss runs Look for trends and and makes recommendations
to save costs Collaborates with with member agencies to ensure compliance with with established standards requirements procedures rules and and regulations Prepares Board Board reports and conducts monthly Board Board meetings according to established policies ◆ Attends meetings and conferences
