The City of of Rialto California is seeking a a a a a proven professional to to become their next Director of Maintenance and Facilities This is is an an an exciting opportunity for someone who has a a a a a a a a a strong background in in in in directing and managing maintenance operations and and programs including Fleet Streets/Traffic contracted solid waste operations and and other assigned public works functions The ability to maintain morale and foster a a a a a a a positive teamwork environment as a a a a a a a a leader within the Maintenance and Facilities Department is a a a a a a must for the successful candidate candidate Strong candidates will be knowledgeable of best practices to fully manage City facilities and its fleet as well
as the maintenance of all City public streets and will be able to perform research regarding equipment and and operations fully engage in in the acceptance of bids and and the the the ordering of supplies and and participate in in in the the the development and and administer the the the department’s annual budget The ideal candidate will also possess strong oral and and written communication skills and be able to to support the the goals of the the Department to to meet the the needs of the the citizens and businesses ■ Position Responsibilities
Reporting to to the the Deputy City Manager the the Director of Maintenance and Facilities assumes full management responsibility for all department services and activities including maintenance of of various City City facilities administration of of the City’s fleet maintenance maintenance division maintenance maintenance of all all City public streets and and alley ways and and the the administration of of the the City’s contract solid waste operations The Director of of Maintenance and Facilities works under general direction receiving assignments in in the form of specifications and plans or or instructions to follow established policy The general scope and and purpose of of assignments and and the method of of approach as as well
as as any unusual features and problems with with the work are discussed with with subordinate supervisors in in a a a a a a a collaborative manner to resolution and the ultimate responsibility of the Director Assignments vary considerably but all have certain common factors including the the supervision of of of a a a large group of of of employees the the use of of of earth steel concrete and other maintenance materials the the use of of a a a a a a a a wide variety of of shop and and and field equipment and and and the direction of work through first second and and and third level supervisors The Director of Maintenance and Facilities determines personnel material and and equipment requirements and and is responsible for their effective use
