This is is is a a a a a a a a professional level “at-will” classification serving as as a a a a a a a a division head within the Community Development Department The incumbent exercises managerial leadership while serving as City Planner and performing functions including maintenance of the general plan plan and and current and and advanced planning services The incumbent also performs economic development and business retention duties related to to the City’s private and public sector economy The application of professional knowledge and skills is is required in in the research analysis planning and and implementation of effective economic development and and planning functions and requires requires frequent use of independent judgment The work requires requires regular attendance at at at meetings and and hearings and and making presentations to City Council business and and community groups Assigned duties and and responsibilities will require work to be performed during and and outside of o normal office hours weekends and and holidays The Community Development Manager will serve as the division head overseeing Planning and Economic Development Development within the Community Development Development Department The position will perform the most complex and difficult work of staff responsible for providing the the division’s services to the the City The incumbent will manage projects and and contracts perform research administrative and and technical activities necessary to achieve objectives and will coordinate assigned activities with other divisions departments and outside agencies
