A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE CAUCUS FOUNDATION SHARON ARNETT
On behalf of the Caucus Foundation, welcome to the 38th Annual Awards Gala.
This past year has been challenging for most of us. And, it has been an especially challenging year for all forms
of entertainment production. As we opened The Foundation Grant Program for 2020 to college students across
the country, the board wondered, how the pandemic would affect our program. I am happy to say that we had six wonderful grant submissions. Each student thesis film dealt passionately with a variety of subjects produced in locations across the globe. Our grantees told stories that focused on human rights, gender identity, workplace equality, immigration and cultural influences. Well done 2020 grantees. I know that The Caucus and The Caucus Foundation look forward to working with these young filmmakers to support them in their career development as our next generation of storytellers and content creators.
In the last 20 years the Foundation has given over $2 million in financial grants and in-kind awards to over 222 leading Film and Television Students across the country to assist with the completion of their thesis projects. The work of
The Foundation will continue with our focus on scholarship support, financial grants and mentoring a diverse group of talented students to help them build their futures in all forms of content creation.
I thank our dedicated Board plus those Caucus members who helped in our screening process. Together, we sincerely thank Panavision, iLLUMINATE Hollywood, and especially the Annenberg Foundation for their generous ongoing support. We are proud of all our Student Grantees and congratulate them on their outstanding creativity.
