 Let’s bring contemporary Thai culture to a global audience.
“Sanmai” was designed under the concept about the creation of new connection between local culture and new generation people, with the goals to produce local products telling the local story for linking with new generation tourists and foreign tourists, to create modern image for products in order to enter the world market and to add value of products in order to generate income for local people. All three students applied their experiences of living in Thailand for two weeks to think about the works, and finally there are three types of products as follows: 1. “Sanmai” Travel Kit consists of
- Scarf: A scarf with a map screened showing handicraft locations in many provinces of the northern part of Thailand which was created since the weather is hot and sunshine is strong. This scarf can be used for sun protection and as the map for surveying handicraft areas.
- Shoe deodorizer box: it was used to deodorize shoe smell caused by tropical weather. Box made of palm leaves and dyed of indigo blue color was contained with dried orange skin, lemon
grass and ginger that help the shoe
smell fresh.
- Insect repellent: When travelling
in upcountry or forestry area, tourists always cope with mosquitos and insects. Thus the
insect repellent is necessary to prevent tourists’ skin from harms with the ingredients of herbs like
