Her sire Victoree Champagne
Years ago, we purchased a young amber champagne quarter horse colt, Driftwood Artist, from Western Australia (bringing him to far north QLD) with plans on breeding champagne appaloosas. I have always loved Golden Badger, a
champagne Appaloosa
stallion that was
imported to Australia.
For years I could not
find any champagne
descendants but finally
found a breeder in
NSW who had 1 mare
descended from him.
And just my luck she
had her daughter for
sale along with her
granddaughter and both
were gold champagnes. Neither had spots but both
were registered Appaloosa, so I snapped them up. Both mares were bred to Driftwood Artist, resulting in our our current stallion Victoree Champagne and his amber champagne spotted sister who we unfortunately lost
to snake bite. We ended up selling Driftwood Artist and waited a few years for Victoree Champagne to mature to use him. His first foal was a 2019 bay filly and she is a cracker. We bred our gold champagne solid Appaloosa mare to Victoree Champagne but her amber champagne filly was born a stillborn. Needless to say,
we were thrilled when our bay mare, Ashfield Always Dreamin produced a healthy amber champagne filly! We have 2 more mares due to Victoree Champagne for 2020. 1 due any day now and another in November.
Our stallion, Victoree Champagne, is currently the only amber champagne Appaloosa stallion in Australia and Callie is now the only amber champagne Appaloosa in Australia. The only other champagne Appaloosas I know of are
3 other gold champagnes. 2 solid, 1 spotted. We are only hobby breeders with
a small herd, but I feel we are finally producing what
we want, smart, athletic, correct babies with trainable minds. We are also very happy with what our young stallion is producing. So far, he has produced three fillys, 1 bay carrying d1 and 2 amber champagne carrying d1 (sadly 1 was stillborn). We currently have 4 champagne Appaloosas, Victoree Champagne (AAA/ amber champagne), LWM Sassybitachampagne (AAA/ gold champagne), LWM Skippin the Champagne (AAA/ gold champagne), Dreamin of Victoree (AAA/amber champagne) and Three Bars Cajun Doc Imp (AQHA imp USA/amber champagne). ~
