I approach portraits with an eye to discover the analytical and the artistic, the athletic and the
intellectual. The details are always compelling: a smudge of grit on sweaty skin, the curve of a descending jumper’s tail, the glisten of water on pure power and muscle – these details uniquely illuminate the beauty and grace of all my subjects.
